Strength and Weakness of the Unicode
Strength: Supported by Unicode Consortium Members: IBM, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, SAP
  Known as world's standard definition. If the code for Latin character ‘A’ is U+0041, then all developers dan software vendors must agree with this code.

Weakness: Unable to represents all the Han (Kanji) characters, since they consist of > 65,000 characters.

 

Limitation of the Unicode
Codifying character, not glyph
RA and GANTUNGAN RA are the same characters, even though the glyphs are different.
TALENG (E) positioned after the syllable, even though visually appear before the syllable.
Does not include rendering engine Rendering engine technology: OpenType, AAT, Graphite, Uniscribe, IBM ICU
Does not include keyboard driver Keyboard driver technology: Microsoft’s Input Method Editor (IME), Keyman
